Principal Ensemble

Fostering Joy and Dedication

Made of elementary and high school students, the ensemble is under the musical direction of Uli Speth. Weekly rehearsals cultivate the skills needed to play as a member of a group, like careful listening, balance, and responsiveness. Public concerts provide an opportunity for students to showcase their hard work.

As a string orchestra, the ensemble is open to musicians who play violin, viola, cello, and double bass. Auditions determine if each musician is more suited to the principal ensemble or the preparatory orchestra.
